Bone Tumor. Symptoms

Symptoms of bone tumors depend on the tumor’s location. For example, the first symptom of a bone tumor in the long bone of the leg will most likely be pain with weight bearing followed by pain at rest.
Tumor growth will lead to bone weakening that can cause pathologic fractures. These are fractures that occur in the absence of trauma or with only minor trauma.
Bone tumors can lead to metabolic disturbances throughout the body, while tumor cells require a lot of metabolites to grow and also can produce some toxic wastes. Those metabolic changes lead to nonspecific symptoms like fatigue and weight loss.
Bone tumors can also cause problems related to metastasis to other sites in the body.
