If you don&amp;#039;t use the function you might lose the function. &lt;br&gt;Open your mouth as wide as you can. You should feel a stretch but not any pain. Hold this position for 5 seconds then relax for a few seconds to give your mouth a break. Good work! Repeat this for seven (7) to eight more (8) times. &lt;br&gt;Open your mouth as wide as you can. Hold this position for 5 seconds then relax for a few seconds to give your mouth a break. Good Work! (x3) &lt;br&gt;Stick out your tongue as far as it will go and really stretch your tongue as far as it will go. Hold this position. Remember that if you feel any dryness in your mouth, you should take a break and swish with water or your baking soda solution. Lets try this one again. &lt;br&gt;Stick out your tongue as far as it will go. Hold for 5 seconds and release this position. (x3) &lt;br&gt;Stick out your tongue up towards your nose like you are trying to touch your tongue towards your nose. Don&amp;#039;t worry about actually touching your tongue to your nose, just go as far as you can. Hold this position. Now move your tongue down towards your chin. Hold this position. Now rest. This exercise can be a little tricky...lets try again. &lt;br&gt;Stick your tongue towards the tip of your nose like you are trying to touch your tongue towards your nose. Its ok if you can&amp;#039;t reach you nose. Hold your tongue in this position for 5 seconds. Now move your tongue towards your chin like you are trying to touch your chin. Hold for 5 second. Relax. (x3) Repeat this exercise 5-10 times. &lt;br&gt;Here&amp;#039;s a tip for this exercise. Make sure you take your time and hold each position for 5 seconds to make sure you give your tongue a good stretch. You will have better results if you do. &lt;br&gt;Stick the tip of your tongue out of your mouth and move it to the left corner of your mouth. You don&amp;#039;t have to stick your tongue out very far, just the tip. Hold for 5 seconds. Now move your tongue towards the outside right corner of your mouth. Hold your tongue there for 5 second. Release this position.  &lt;br&gt;Move your tongue towards the left corner of your mouth. Hold it there for 5 seconds. Now move your tongue towards the outside right corner of your mouth. Hold your tongue there for 5 second. Release this position. Good work! One of the common characteristics of Parkinson&amp;#039;s is forward head posture and a rounding of the thoracic spine.   &lt;br&gt;  &lt;br&gt;When we have a forward head posture,  our head ends up  being supported by only two or three vertebrae. Now, all of a sudden, the weight of the head jumps up to about 30 pounds. And as they continue to get further forward, the weight jumps up to about 40 pounds, which is why, unfortunately, a lot of people, if they don&amp;#039;t do the exercises, they end up almost stooping forward.   &lt;br&gt;  &lt;br&gt;So, what it&amp;#039;s supposed to look like, ideally, is you want to try to have that cervical spine, ear lobe lines up with your shoulders. So, how do we fix this?  You need  to be willing to put the time in, but you can make a difference with it. First exercise is pretty simple. I&amp;#039;m just going to give you three simple exercises. First exercise is pretty simple. What we want to try to do is we want to try to sit up as tall as we can and bring that head back over the shoulders.  So, we&amp;#039;re making double chins. Make sure you don&amp;#039;t go down, make sure you don&amp;#039;t go up. We&amp;#039;re just coming straight back over here. How many double chins are we going to do? We&amp;#039;re going to do two sets of 10.  with about a two or three second hold. Two sets of 10, a two or three second hold.   &lt;br&gt;  &lt;br&gt;The next exercise  basically  involves is putting our &amp;quot;scapula or our shoulder blades in our back pocket&amp;quot;. I&amp;#039;m going to squeeze my shoulder blades together and I&amp;#039;m going to put them down into my back pocket and I&amp;#039;m going to hold it there for a five second count and then I&amp;#039;m going to let it relax.  . Once again, we&amp;#039;ve got two sets of 10 with a five second hold. This will help your posture and try to correct for the rounded shoulders.   &lt;br&gt;  &lt;br&gt;The last one we&amp;#039;re going to do is we&amp;#039;re going to try to open up that chest a little bit. It&amp;#039;s going to require a chair with a low back.  You&amp;#039;ll take a deep breath in and as you exhale, you&amp;#039;re going to try to open up a little bit over the back of the chair. It&amp;#039;s almost like you&amp;#039;re using that as a hinge to kind of open that thoracic spine up a little bit. Has to be a firm chair  since you need that pressure to open up because that thoracic spine is going to get stiff.   &lt;br&gt;  &lt;br&gt;You can also do this exercise, if you&amp;#039;re not too stiff, on a foam roller, but I recommend starting off doing it in a chair initially.  So, the three exercises: the chin tuck, shoulders back and down, and then a low back chair, we&amp;#039;re working on opening up that thoracic spine. We&amp;#039;re doing two sets of 10 with a five second hold on the thoracic spine opener.   &lt;br&gt;  &lt;br&gt;Three simple exercises. Get them done daily. Just no excuses.       <description>The other day someone asked me how I stay in a good ‘head space’ and on top of things given the sheer number of people I manage in my company, the content I create on a weekly and often daily basis, the social media ‘pings’, not to mention the usual messiness of life, a relationship and everything that comes with it. So how do I do it? EXERCISE. To be fair, I’m regulated in my autonomic nervous system, something I was lucky to have early on because of a solid and secure attachment with my parents. But like everyone, I’ve had my share of traumatic incidents, industrialized stressors and so on. So I’m not immune to stress, bacteria, or viruses, but I do account my strong life force energy to my lifelong love with physical activity, sport, and taking care of my body. Today’s vlog is all about this. The bottom line is this: We need to move. Physically, frequently, and with high intensity. If we can’t do this, then we need to take some steps to get to this, which means doing the work!
